Rich is Co-Founder and Chair of the Board of Volustor, a SaaS platform providing workflow, asset management and visualisation for 3D scanning, spatial data and digital replicas in media, gaming, metaverse and industrial applications. Volustor has been forged in the furnace of high end Hollywood movie production and is a unique solution for volumetric media workflow and asset management.
Rich is President of SMPTE, the global society of media professionals, technologists, and engineers. In this role, he chairs the Executive Committee and Board of Governors who set the strategic direction of the organization, and fosters collaboration and education among its members.
Rich is also an investor and advisor with Hallstone Ventures, a Silicon Valley and Hollywood seed-stage fund focussed on AI and advanced technology startups in media.
Rich holds a Doctor of Technology (HC), and a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Media Technology from Solent University. He has previously held senior roles at Dolby Laboratories, Technicolor and Deluxe Entertainment. Rich founded SaaS platform Sundog Media Toolkit in 2013 which was acquired by Deluxe in 2021.
